Description
This presentation explores codependency as a pattern in which approval, caretaking, or rescuing becomes central to self-worth and emotional relief. The addiction paradigm helps examine repeated urges, brief relief, and continuing costs. Childhood learning and relationship fears offer possible pathways to explore. Practical examples connect self-awareness with boundaries, mindfulness, and mutual care. Recovery emphasizes greater choice while respecting safety and caregiving duties.
Learning Objectives

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Practical examples connect self-awareness with boundaries, mindfulness, and mutual care. Recovery emphasizes greater choice while respecting safety and caregiving duties.
  2. Describe a cycle of trigger, compulsive response, temporary relief, and continuing cost.
  3. Identify how childhood learning and relationship fears may shape current reactions.
  4. Demonstrate a mindfulness pause and a boundary statement in a relationship scenario.
  5. Develop a recovery plan that includes personal needs, support, and responses to setbacks.
