DESCRIPTION:

Appropriate for all clinical levels. Target audience: clinicians working with clients living with co-occurring substance use disorders and histories of trauma. Analyze language of the 12 steps through a trauma-informed lens. Provide clients with alternative language options to promote healing empowerment & prevent re-traumatization.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

Understand secular, harm reduction and moderation approaches to substance use.
Identify 10 peer support alternatives to AA/NA to refer clients.
