Grief 101

Description: This workshop is about grief, loss and recovery. It reintroduces clinicians to topics they may already be familiar with, and it introduces new information about the stages and symptoms of grief, and the tasks of recovery. It also presents information on clinical approaches that have proven to be effective in helping clients recover from grief and loss.

Objectives:

By the conclusion of the presentation, participants will be able to:

1. Cite and explain the stages of grief;
   
2. Cite the symptoms of grief, including emotional, cognitive, and somatic; and
   
3. Cite and explain the tasks of grief.
   
4. Cite and explain at least two clinical approaches to help clients recover from grief and loss.
