This workshop meets the HIV training requirement required for licensure renewal. Don't wait before it's too late!

DESCRIPTION: This workshop is an interactive presentation which will provide participants "basic knowledge" about HIV/AIDS, including current treatment options and barriers to adherence. Participants will engage in discussions regarding ethics surrounding HIPAA and disclosure issues as well as state's laws surrounding HIV and sexual activity. Case studies presented are focused on a local DC Child and Adolescent Clinic.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Learn the basic facts about HIV (transmission, vocabulary)
Be able to identify barriers to medication adherence
Learn about reporting laws in MD, DC, VA
Be knowledgable about treatment options for HIV
