Adele Natter, DC Legislation and Advocacy Co-Chair

1. The DC public emergency orders ended as of April 16, 2022, and no other emergency orders have been issued.
2. Social workers in DC are not required to have COVID booster shots.
3. March 31, 2022, was the deadline for social workers practicing in DC under a COVID licensure waiver. As of now, all clinicians practicing in person or virtually, must have a current DC social work license.

Telehealth

1. Virtual supervision has been extended to December 31, 2022.
2. The DC Board of Social Work has assessed that because the use of therapy sessions via virtual technology has increased dramatically, it does not envision legislation ending the use of telehealth to provide this service.

Board of Social Work Meetings

Meetings take place on the 4th Monday of the month at 10:00 AM. The next meeting will be held on June 27, 2022. The meetings are virtual and anyone can attend. The Board takes notice of our participation and this allows us to increase the Board's awareness of our practice issues and allows us to influence Board decisions.
